Waitstaff

We’re looking for Waitstaff to provide a first-class dining experience to our guests in a unique dining venue. As a Waitstaff member, you will be responsible for total customer service on our scenic train excursions ensuring passengers have an exceptional dining experience by maintaining strict attention to detail.  You must provide excellent customer service while demonstrating experienced hospitality and effectiveness in meeting the needs of passengers.  Overall, waitstaff are responsible for greeting, boarding, seating, and serving food and beverages to car guests.  If you are a team player with a positive attitude and a passion for food and service, we want you on our Waitstaff!

Skills and Qualifications: (some, but not limited to those listed)

  • Possess an enthusiastic character and a courteous professional attitude 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective organizational skills with an art for multitasking in a fast paced environment
  • Detailed-oriented with the ability to follow protocols 
  • Must be flexible and able to shift job duties
  • Good communicator and able to handle conflict effectively
  • Possess endurance necessary to deliver high quality service to customers
  • Good listener and able to make quick and informed decisions
  • Must use positive language and possess social awareness skill to meet the needs of customers 
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and special events 

Duties and assignments:

  • Responsible for the overall condition of assigned dining car 
  • Entire personal care of customers from boarding, seating, serving, and deboarding 
  • Greeting customers and performing boarding and seating procedures
  • Preparing tables and ensuring they are clean and fully set
  • Maintaining knowledge of the complete menu
  • Checking the quality of dishes before serving them and maintaining food quality 
  • Delivering food and beverages in a timely manner
  • Attending tables and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Strictly adhering to food, sanitary, and safety standards
  • Organize and accommodate guests and maintain clear and organized tables
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and storage areas
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining car
  • Stock supplies and equipment 
  • Report to management any issues with management and staff
  • Perform food prep and table service to the highest standards
  • Move food from kitchen to dining room and serve tables
  • Clear dishes, glasses, silverware, and condiments from tables and remove to proper locations, remove trash and properly dispose 
  • Promotes a positive dining experience by greeting customers, responding to requests for service, and responding to complaints
  • Dining car must be completely cleaned and reset for next excursion after passengers deboard
  • Waitstaff must be knowledgeable about the railroad and excursions and assist the passengers in a tour guide capacity 
  • The heritage train is an entertainment venue and waitstaff must demonstrate experienced hospitality skills 
  • Adherence to a uniform policy and grooming standards -must present a neat, professional appearance
