All Day Petersburg


Featuring: Canyon to Caverns Layover Event

Looking for a full-day adventure? Board the train at Wappocomo Station in Romney and embark on a scenic 76-mile journey southbound through Trough Canyon to the end of our line in Petersburg, WV. Experience breathtaking views of Almost Heaven, West Virginia, with a 3-hour layover in a charming Appalachian town, making this extended trip unforgettable.

Green Spring Special


Enjoy a relaxing trip along the South Branch of the Potomac River, traveling approximately 25 miles northbound to the charming town of Green Spring, West Virginia. This comfortable 1.5-hour journey takes you through beautiful rolling farmland and spectacular natural rock formations. Families can explore the Observatory Car with open windows for an immersive experience. Spot deer and cattle, and enjoy peaceful pastoral scenes, offering a soothing escape from daily life.

Holiday Trough

Cross historic Sycamore Bridge and take in breathtaking canyon views, with American bald eagles in their natural habitat.

North Pole Express


Experience a 75-minute North Pole Express ride in vintage cars adorned with seasonal decorations. Enjoy storytelling and live entertainment while savoring milk and Mrs. Claus’ cookies. To cancel your ticket, you must inform Potomac Eagle by 5PM the day before

At this time no outside food or beverages will be allowed to be brought on the train! If you need to carry on a small cooler for medical purposes such as insulin injections then please inform the reservation office before the time of the trains departure.

Tickets that Include meal service require an advanced reservation. To cancel reservations involving meal service, cancellation must be made more than a week prior to departure date to obtain your full in house credit. A service fee will be deducted from your inhouse credit if meal service is cancelled less than one week prior to your excursion.
